Awarding Scholarships

The Rotary Club of West Wichita will award High School Scholarships of $1,000 each to four qualified 2023 graduating seniors from our club's area high schools: Bishop Carroll, Goddard, Eisenhower, Maize, Maize South, and Wichita Northwest. 

As part of the selection process, each student must submit, along with the application, a short paragraph of why you chose to pursue your field of study or vocational and a letter of recommendation from one of their high school teachers.

Applicants selected to be scholarship recipients are expected to attend one of our club meetings during April or May to accept the award and briefly share about future plans and how this scholarship will benefit them.

Scholarship Qualifications:
  • Current graduating seniors from our area high schools who plan to attend a Kansas university/college or Trade school
  • Proven involvement in school, church, and community activities
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.50 or above (on a 4.0 scale)
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher/administrator speaking to the quality of your work and study habits
  • Cannot be an immediate family relative of a member of the Rotary Club of West Wichita
