Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland

Liz Workman has built her professional career in both non-profit and for-profit leadership positions.  Liz joined the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland in July, 2013, as its Chief Executive Officer.   Prior to this, she served as Executive Director of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.  During her tenure at the foundation, she successfully led the organization through a critical period of growth in both asset size and community grant making, proactively partnering with two boards to further the organization’s mission.

Liz’s prior professional experiences include: independent fine arts consulting (providing a broad range of collections management and administrative services to museums, private collectors and corporations) and work in the banking and investment banking sectors.  She was the Managing Director of Analytics at Cohane Rafferty Securities in New York from 1988 to 1999.

Liz is a sixth generation Kansan.  She grew up in Wichita, Kansas and was a brownie and junior Girl Scout.  Liz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wichita State University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University, and was the valedictorian of her graduating classes. In addition to her professional career, Liz has served on many boards and community volunteer groups, including the boards of the First Presbyterian Church Foundation, Friends of the Beach Museum of Art, the Manhattan Arts Center, and Sister Cities International Fort Worth.   Liz is currently a member of Soroptimist International of Wichita and the Board of the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum.  Liz is fluent in Spanish and is an accomplished photographer.  She is also an avid reader and enjoys hiking, gardening and travel.

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
