City Manager of Maize

Nick Gregory has served as the City Manager of Maize, Kansas, since November 2023. With 24 years of experience in public administration, he brings a wealth of expertise in municipal management, infrastructure planning, economic development, and community engagement.
A native of West Wichita, Gregory earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Kansas in 1998 and his master's degree in public administration from Wichita State University in 2001. His career in local government began in Great Bend, Kansas, where he held various roles from 2002 to 2009, including Research/Project Coordinator and Assistant City Administrator. He then served as City Administrator for McPherson, Kansas, for 14 years before joining Maize.
Gregory is committed to enhancing quality of life, fostering responsible growth, and ensuring transparency in government operations. He is actively involved in regional initiatives and has played a key role in infrastructure development and financial stewardship throughout his career.
Outside of his professional life, Gregory enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Adina, have been married for 23 years and have three children: Noah (21), Mason (19), and Evan (16). He remains deeply connected to the Wichita area, where much of his extended family still resides.
Also joining Nick today will be Chad Clark, C.A.C. Consulting and Tristin Terhune, Assistant City Manager.
CHAD CLARK is a native of Wichita and a Wichita State University Alum with a BA in Journalism, He has had a diversified career within the Not-for-Profit Sector for over 30 years. Ranging from special event coordination to Foundation management and facilitation. Chad received his certification as a planned gift advisor from the College of William and Mary and the Robert Sharpe National Planned Giving Institute and he acquired his certificate for Endowment Development & Growth from the Endowment Development Institute.
Previous positions include the Director of Development for Planned Giving at the Wichita State University Foundation where he focused on estate planning and legacy building for donors to enhance their gifting to the university. (Retired in 2022) Prior to the this, he was the Executive Director for the McPherson County Healthcare Foundation in McPherson, KS. for 16 years. Here he devised a planned gift program and fund development for the purpose of securing, managing and allocating funds for endowment development designed to enhance healthcare, safety and wellness in McPherson County. Chad has a strong desire and commitment to the support of community development and projects that build a quality of life for all to benefit within the community. This dates back to his first involvement as an elected official for the Wichita District # 5 CPO beginning in 1995. He has been involved in a number of professional organizations and projects over the years. TRISTIN TERHUNE is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Maize, where she focuses on communications, human resources, and community events. Her background includes 13 years of experience in local government, where she embraced various roles that built her strong foundation and passion for public service. Tristin was recognized by the Wichita Business Journal as a Marketing Honoree in 2021 and as one of the Women Who Lead in Marketing and Communications in 2020. She also received the KACM Rising Star Scholarship to pursue her master’s in public administration at Wichita State University.
As she approaches her one-year anniversary with Maize in April, Tristin is proud to serve the community she calls home. She and her family are Maize residents, with both of her children attending Maize schools.

Kitchen Restore Program

Sara Sawer, MPH, RD, LD - Sara is a Registered Dietitian and the Nutrition, Health & Wellness Agent for K-State Research and Extension Sedgwick County. In this role, she helps adults in Sedgwick County make simple, sustainable changes to improve their health, manage chronic conditions, and feel their best. Sara also collaborates with community partners to find creative, practical solutions for improving access to healthy foods in the area. With a Bachelor’s in Dietetics from Kansas State University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Kansas, Sara combines expertise and passion to support healthier communities.
About Kitchen Restore - The Kitchen Restore program provides kitchen starter kits to low-resource households. Adult participants in K-State Research and Extension nutrition education programs serving individuals at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) are eligible for a kit. Kits include a range of items to help households prepare and eat more nutritious meals at home. Funding for Kitchen Restore is made possible through donations and grants. We are grateful to West Wichita Rotary for the sponsorship and support they have provided for this initiative.
