![]() Candidate for Governor
Jun 10, 2025 12:00 PM
Stacy Rogers, a lifelong Kansan and advocate for constitutional freedoms, has announced her candidacy for Governor of Kansas. Rogers enters the race with a deep commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing the state and bringing positive change through strong leadership and unity. If elected, she would become the first female Republican Governor in Kansas history.
Rooted in her experience as a mother of three and a business owner, Rogers brings a grounded perspective to the challenges facing Kansas families. Her platform centers on protecting individual rights, revitalizing education, supporting local businesses, and upholding the values that have long shaped the state's identity. A former homeschool parent, Rogers has a unique and personal understanding of the educational needs of Kansas children, particularly those with learning challenges. Two of her children have faced such challenges, and her years of advocacy have been dedicated to ensuring access to the resources and support all students need to thrive.
Rogers plans to travel throughout Kansas to connect with voters, share her vision, and build a movement committed to renewal and reform. At the heart of her campaign is a commitment to ensuring that every Kansan feels seen, heard, and valued in the political process—laying the foundation for a brighter future.
Along with being the owner of Eberly Farm, Rogers is also the owner of Kids Closet Consignment Sales and is the franchisor for the company across the United States. Outside of work, she loves singing and has been singing since she was two years old alongside her dad, who was a street minister. She enjoys attending local events like Final Friday and Music Festivals and is a huge supporter of shop and support local.
Rogers is a mom to three sons—Brandon (31), Wesley (27), and Vaughn (22). Their family is especially excited right now as her youngest is engaged and will be getting married later this year.

Alzheimer's Association
Jun 17, 2025 12:00 PM
Fe Vorderlandwehr understands what the “sandwich generation” is because she experienced it. Her grandmother came to live with her family when she was in the 8th grade. “Looking back, I now see how hard it was for my parents to juggle a young family and care for an elderly parent. If only they had known about the Alzheimer’s Association at that time.” Perhaps that experience eventually led Vorderlandwehr to her current job, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association – Central and Western Kansas Chapter. Her passion for those living with and caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia fuels her determination to guide the Chapter in providing care and support services for the 55,000 individuals living in Kansas with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.
Prior to working with the Alzheimer’s Association, Vorderlandwehr worked as the Wichita director of the American Diabetes Association, and as the community center director for McConnell Air Force Base. Her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wichita State University included a major in public relations and a minor in marketing.
Vorderlandwehr cares deeply for her community and has served on the planning committee for Lead Wichita’s Global Leadership Summit. She has also been an Honorary Commander for McConnell Air Force Base, a member of Junior League of Wichita and Women of Wichita. She currently is a member of the West Wichita Rotary, Wichita Independent Business Association and the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce. In 2008 she was named one of Wichita Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and a member of the 2018 Leadership Wichita class.
When she is not working, you’ll find Vorderlandwehr with her family; son Isaac and husband James.

Carter holds degrees from Arizona State University and Wichita State University and has called Wichita home since 2015. She is thrilled to be a part of this organization and help connect donors and corporate sponsors with the incredible projects MTWichita produces. Carter shares her love of musical theatre with her husband, Michael Mays, who is the choir teacher at Wichita Northwest High School. Carter and Mike live in Northwest Wichita with their daughter Goldie and their dog Juniper. |

![]() “The Past Through Postcards “
Jul 15, 2025
Hal Ottoway is a collector of historical items, including the lowly postcard. He reminds us that the postcard was an important means of communication before telephones and telegraphs. Postcard art often captures the time and place of a community's significant people, buildings, and events. He will look at the history of Wichita through his extensive collection of postcards. |
