United States Senator for Kansas

Jerry Moran has been serving Kansans in the United States Senate since 2011. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, he has been a vocal advocate for pro-growth, pro-job policies to make certain businesses can succeed, including those in rural areas. He previously served seven terms in the United States House of Representatives.

Sen. Moran serves on the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee; the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee; the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee; and the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and is the ranking member of Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, where he continues his strong advocacy for our nation’s veterans, working to make certain they receive the care they have been promised.

Sen. Moran also serves as the ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, where he leads funding decisions that impact men and women working at agencies including the Department of Justice, Department of Commerce, the Office of Science and Technology Policy, NASA and the Economic Development Administration.

Before his election to public office, Jerry Moran attended Fort Hays State University and later the University of Kansas, where he completed a degree in economics. After an early career as a banker, he received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. Jerry and his wife Robba live in Manhattan, and have two daughters – Kelsey and Alex.
