TODAY'S MEETING
Nov 02, 2021 12:00 PM
Fundraiser for Paxton's Blessing Box
This meeting will be held at Venue 3130
3130 W. Central Ave. (don't go to RHCC)
Organized by Sean Babjak and Colby Reynolds

A local charity is chosen each year to receive the money we raise from this meeting to help those in need. The charity selected this year is Paxton's Blessing Box. The 87 red boxes that have been placed around Wichita, identified as "Paxton's Blessing Boxes" are used to fill with non-perishable food and hygiene products for those in need. Paxton Burns and his mom, Maggie Ballard, started the boxes after getting the idea 5 years ago on social media.  Their motto is "Take a blessing when you need one and leave a blessing when you can!" These boxes need to be supplied regularly since they are actively used.

Our club sponsored the installation of a Paxton's Blessing Box at Lawrence Elemenetary last year.

Here's how our luncheon works:

Some of our members have signed up to bring Chili, Soup, Dessert, Bread. (see list below)

Members bring cash to the meeting and use $1 bills to vote for their favorites. Change will be available.

The money received from the votes, along with the meal money we save from not eating at RHCC, will be donated to Paxton's Blessing Box to provide food for the needy.

Top winners in each of the following categories will receive a prize:

  1. Anything Goes Soup
  2. Chili
  3. Dessert

Members bringing soup or chili: Sean Babjak, DeAnn Sulliva, Zella Newberry, Randy Bowles, Colby Reynolds, Kandace Day, Lori Taylor & Rod Brown.

Members bringing dessert: Roger Bowles, Sharon West, Mindy Wagner, Lori Taylor, Jodi Besthorn

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

LAWRENCE ELEMENTARY
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
THANK YOU
I would like to say thank you for your priceless contribution to the Lawrence Elementary School Fall Festival event on October 14th. Your presence was the major reason that the staff and students were buzzing the next school day about how much fun they had at the event. The act of kindness the Westside Rotary showed in reaching out to our school community was totally awesome! I hope that you will be willing to participate again next year. I cannot find the right words to say how much I appreciate everything you did to make the event a success.  Thanks again for making a difference.
