THE ROTARY FOUNDATION
Fellow Eastside Rotarian, Tom Church,
sent this notice to me to share:
I was researching a certain charity on the Charity Navigator website and noticed that the Rotary International Foundation was on their "Perfect 100 List" with the following verbiage:
"The exceptional charities on this list execute their mission in a financially responsible way while adhering to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities.  Each has earned a perfect score for its Financial Health and its Accountability and Transparency. Those two scores then translate into a perfect 100 point overall score.  Less than one percent of the thousands of charities rated by Charity Navigators have earned perfect scores."
This is quite an achievement and should give every Rotarian confidence that contributing to the Rotary Foundation is one of the best entities to which anyone could direct one's charitable funds.

September is...
BASIC EDUCATION & LITERACY MONTH
________________________________
The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
Congratulations to Tony Morrow whose name was drawn at our last zoom meeting for the August Birthday drawing. Tony won a $25 gift certificate to Cabela's.
NOTE TO BOB BENSON: you are the only September birthday in the club, so attend at least one zoom meeting this month and you'll have a pretty good chance of winning! ; )

MONTHLY GROCERY SHOPPING: Rod Brown will be heading up this year's project. Our club will provide gift cards for shoppers to purchase groceries for needy families at Lawrence & Benton Elementary schools throughout the school year. We need 2 pairs of shoppers each month. You choose the date that's convenient. Rod is lining up his volunteers for October, so if you are available to purchase and deliver groceries, please let Diane know.

Thanks to Mark Chamberlin for making some changes to the Homepage on our club website! If you haven't gone to it recently, check it out!

There will be a Board of Director's Meeting on Monday, September 21, 5:30 p.m. at the Starkey Human Resource Center, 8428 W. 13th.
