Lisa Reddick is a dedicated professional with over 23 years of experience at POET. Throughout her journey, Lisa has held various positions, starting from an Accounting Assistant and progressing to the leader of Planning and Trade Fulfillment, a team dedicated to customer engagement and contract fulfillment. Presently, Lisa is honored to serve as the Talent Strategy Director, where she is able to put her passion for people and development to work. She is committed to helping individuals grow and succeed in their careers and is currently working towards earning an ACC Coaching Credential. Lisa’s family includes husband, Andy, daughter Abby (26), sons Tanner (23) and Elijah (18), and a 95 lb. labradoodle named Lily.

Shelter Box Coordinator for District 5680
Congratulations on achieving ShelterBox HERO club recognition for Rotary Year 2023-2024.
In 2023, we supported more than 325,000 people (approximately 65,000 households). It is our second biggest year, behind the 420,000 supported in 2022, in terms of people reached since ShelterBox began in 2000.
We supported thousands of people in Türkiye and Syria after earthquakes devastated the region. In Morocco, where a powerful earthquake had caused widespread damage in the Atlas Mountains, our teams worked with our partner Association Le Grand Atlas, and Rotary District 9010 to distribute emergency shelter aid to around 20 affected communities.
East Africa has been victim to the worst drought in 40 years, causing millions of people to be displaced. We’ve supported thousands of people in Ethiopia this year providing essential household items, tarpaulins, and ropes for people who have been displaced. We also launched our first project in Somalia since 2011 and have so far been able to provide support for hundreds of people, with additional projects in the pipeline for 2024.
As the conflict in Ukraine approaches its third year, we are delivering our sixth project in the country supporting thousands more people with winter clothing, blankets, and stoves. We are continuing to support people affected by conflict in Syria with winterization projects too, making sure people have thermal clothing, blankets, and tarpaulins to help make temporary shelters waterproof.
In Cameroon, we’ve supported over 100,000 people who have had to flee their homes due to conflict, the climate crisis, and poverty. Our latest project in the country has supported over 63,000 people with shelter.
ShelterBox has provided aid to nearly 3 million people since 2000, we could not have reached them without clubs like yours.

The purpose of the award is to recognize a fellow Rotarian for the outstanding contributions they make to the community, our club, social, religious, educational, business ethics, and/or other worthwhile activities which make Wichita a better community.

Pop-Up Camp Saturday, February 24
The one-day Rotary Pop-Up Camp for High School Freshman, Sophomore or Junior students will take place at Cosmosphere, the space museum and STEM education center located in Hutchinson, KS. Registration fee includes Cosmosphere admission, t-shirt, lunch, and dinner.

Meliss Hamilton
Meliss was inducted at last week's meeting. She is an Accountant at Koch, Siedhoff, Hand & Dunn, LLP and is sponsored by Lori Taylor.
My name is Meliss Hamilton and I am a CPA based in Wichita. I was born and raised here; attended Maize schools for all twelve years and graduated from Wichita State University. I have been married for almost five years and both of our families are based here as well – we love Wichita! We have seven pets that are our babies so our house is full of love and chaos. My family is very tight-knit; my husband and I live next door to my parents on the river, and every weekend we have a family lunch with them, my brother’s family, and my grandma.
When I am not working, you can find me in the kitchen; it is my favorite place to be. I have been cooking and baking with my family since I was old enough to sit up in the sink and I love to feed people. If I am not in there, then you can find me on the couch with a video game or hosting board game nights – my husband and I are both avid gamers. I am really looking forward to being a part of Rotary! I love this community and want to do my part to make Wichita even better.
