Tammie Rhea has worked at Evergy, previously Westar Energy for 14 years. She started with the company working in Energy Efficiency before moving to renewables 9 years ago. Tammie is from Kentucky but has made Kansas her home for the last 17 years. Tammie and her husband Leo, have three children, James, Katherine and Kelsey. They are expecting their first grandchild in mid November. (and they could not be more excited!!)

There will be a Wine Dinner Event Committee meeting,April 12, in Mulligans (at RHCC) after our club meeting.Anyone interested in serving on the committee is invited to attend! Our Wine Dinner Event, which is the annual fundraiser for our club's charitable activities, is scheduled to be held October 8.

DICTIONARY PROJECT

Randy Bowles, Roger Bowles & Stephanie Flaming helped deliver dictionaries to the 3rd graders at Lawrence Elementary last week.
Providing dictionaries for 3rd graders in Wichita is a project of the Downtown Rotary Club. Area Rotary clubs join in by helping to deliver them to the schools. When presenting them, they let the students know that the dictionaries are from the Rotary club and point out the 4-way test on the first page and the importance of that in their life. Roger reported that when he asked the students if they had received one of our bookshelves in first grade, they were excited and over half raised their hand.
FUN FACT: Stephanie Flaming (one of our members who recently transferred from the Downtown Club) was the Chair of the Downtown Rotary Dictionary Project when she was a member there.
