Due to coronavirus precautions, Rolling Hills Country Club is closed the rest of March and our Rotary club will not have meetings - or any other activities - during that time. Our board will meet via conference call on March 30, 5:30 p.m., to discuss plans for April. Our Quarterly Dues billing for April - June will be delayed until plans are determined.

MESSAGE FROM OUR CLUB PRESIDENT
We are into week two of the new normal. I really miss seeing all you and having lunch together. Hope all of you are doing well despite working from home, social distancing, and the fear of running out of toilet paper. I look forward to when we will again be able to meet in person. So, in these uncertain times, here are a few things to think about.
1. Once a group of villagers decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer, all the people gathered, but only one boy came with an umbrella. That is faith.
2. Every night we go to bed without any assurance of being alive the next morning, but we still set our alarms to wake up. That is hope.
3. We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of zero knowledge of the future. That is confidence.
In the meantime, and even though we can’t get out and do, have a happy day and continue to live your lives by the Rotary motto of the things we think, say, and do.

INTERACT PANAMA TRIP UPDATE
As reported via e-mail last week:
The Interact trip to Panama was cancelled due to closures and travel restrictions from coronavirus concerns.
DONATIONS MADE FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Brent Dome will store the school supplies he has received, and the cash donations will be deposited in the Interact Bank account. He is keeping a ledger of the monetary donations received and they will use those funds to purchase the supplies when needed for that trip.
Update from Brent Dome (Sunrise Rotary)
Dalia Hale, Randy Bowles and I met to discuss the possibility of rescheduling our Panama trip. The issues we ran into is we don't yet know when they will resume school and once we get into summer, Panama is still in school but many of the Interact students begin summer jobs or have other travel plans. Being at a point of unknown we decided to cancel the trip for this time around and see what future opportunities we can take advantage of.
We were able to get the hotel and transportation cancelled so no additional costs were incurred. A big thank you to the West and Sunrise Rotary Clubs and all of the Rotarians that support Interact. This club would not exist if it were not for the generous donations that support our cause.

PLEASE NOTE: The schedule below of Upcoming Programs & Events is tentative. Meeting plans for April will be determined at the end of this month.
I have conversed with the social workers at both Lawrence and Benton elementary schools, and they are still trying to line up two families from each school to receive groceries on Saturday April 11th in anticipation of Easter. Mark Hansen still plans to lead our group of shoppers on that day. If we get the families' contact information, we will shop for and deliver groceries to them while remaining compliant with any guidelines or mandates in effect at that time. More details will be forthcoming.
