July 1st marks the beginning of a new Rotary year! Thank you to Ed Frey for his leadership as our 2024–25 Club President and our Board of Directors for their service this year.
We will have a recap today of our activities this past year presented by our Committee Chairs, followed by our Past Presidents passing the gavel up through the years to this year's Club President Mindy Wagner.

ABOUT MISTY...
I was born in Wichita to a novice actress and an airman. After my parents divorced, my mother took me and my older brother to live in Independence, KS for work. After a few years we moved to Eldorado, Ks and that is where I grew up for the most part. I am a 1985 graduate of Circle High School in Towanda. My mother became a successful businesswoman in a Fortune 500 company. My Dad, along with my stepmom operated La Chinita on N. Broadway for many years. My brother was a Wichita Police Officer (he got to tackle one of the Carr brothers!) and was named officer of the year in 2010. All three are now deceased. Which leaves me with my wonderful Husband of 26 years, 3 grown children, and 8 grandchildren.
My husband is 2nd shift superintendent at Metal Fab, Inc. We love to travel, wherever there is a beach!
I work for Strong’s Insurance (Maize location) as a commercial line’s insurance agent. I believe in servant leadership and that drives me everyday to help others to understand insurance and search for the solutions they need. I get to partner with all types of businesses and my favorite thing is meeting a new friend!

SATELLITE CLUB
Our thanks to Julie Butler for serving as the 2024-25 Chair for the Satellite Club! Paige Koeppen will be stepping into that role for this new Rotary year.
OPEN DOOR PROJECT

Satellite members supported Open Door on June 18th by providing lunch. Eleven of our members joined together to make 150 sack lunches. We then helped serve the lunches. We would like to thank West Wichita Rotary for the financial support for this successful opportunity.

HOLIDAY RAFFLE:Lori Taylor drew a Jack and won $15 in our raffle last week. This week the pot will be worth $84 plus half of the meeting ticket sales if an Ace is drawn. Proceeds from the raffle are used to fund our Monthly & Holiday grocery projects.

PRESIDENTIAL MESSAGE
Rotary International President Mário César Martins de Camargo recently unveiled his 2025-26 presidential message: Unite for Good. During his speech, Mario emphasized the power of human connection—encouraging members to welcome new faces, collaborate on service projects, and expand our global impact.
This year, there is a change in how Rotary’s presidential message is presented. Beginning in the 2025-26 Rotary year when Mário serves as RI President, the traditional annual “presidential theme” will be replaced by a more consistent “presidential message.” This shift is designed to streamline branding and communication, ensuring a unified and cohesive voice across Rotary. The presidential message is intended to communicate a central message aligned with the Rotary Action Plan, with the intent of avoiding confusion caused by a different theme and logo each year.
