The Gathering
The Gathering originated from a shared vision to create a proverbial welcome mat for Black talent arriving in Wichita. Receiving and supporting the best of local resources, comforts, and opportunities provides big-picture perspective for transplants and natives alike.  Wichita has an extraordinarily resilient and accomplished community of African Americans, and we are stronger together.  
 
With this vision in mind, The Gathering aims to:
1. be a landing space for Black professionals.
2. intentionally connect Black professionals to cultivated opportunities.
3. determine how members can best benefit and support each other's diverse talents.
 
The overarching goal is to be a vital community resource that cultivates and retains Black talent in Wichita through relationship building, mentorships, professional development, social engagement, board participation, and entrepreneurial support.

We are less than 6 weeks away from our big event! There are many ways you can contribute to its success. Your support makes all the difference!
 
Auction Baskets can be dropped off at Roger Bowles' house now through September 3. 
Individual Auction Basket items can be brought to our meetings.
Cash donations for Basket items OR for general event use can be brought to the meeting. Fill out the Donations form, which can also be used as your receipt.
Bottles of Wine donations can be brought to our meetings.
CHECKS need to be made payable to: West Wichita Charitable Foundation.

you need to FILL OUT THE FORM and give it to Diane WITH YOUR PAYMENT. There are LIMITED spots for both so get your reservations in right away! 
We also have forms available for  SPONSORSHIPS and AUCTION/DONATIONS.

Holiday Raffle: Dave Abbot drew a Queen and won $15 in the raffle last week. This week, the raffle will be worth $50 plus half of the meeting's ticket sales if an Ace is drawn. Proceeds from the raffle are used to buy groceries for families in need at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
