Andrea Krug Krauss has been a member of the Rotary Club of Russell, Kansas since 2004. She has served in many capacities within her club, including as Program Chairman, Foundation Chairman, and President (2009-2010). At the district level, Andrea has served as District Grants Sub-Committee Chairman, Assistant Governor, District 5670 Governor (2018-2019), Chairman of Heartland PETS, and Co-Chairman of the District 5680 Merger Committee. At the zone level, she has served as DG Best Practices Facilitator and as PDG Forum Facilitator at the Zone 25b/29 Institutes and on the RI Director Nominating Committee. She is also a member of the Rotary International Strategic Planning Committee. Andrea has traveled to Panama, Guatemala, and Ecuador on Rotary service trips and is a member of the Paul Harris Society. In addition, she was the 2019 co-recipient of the Rotary District 5680 Service Above Self Award for her work on the merger of Districts 5670 and 5690.
Andrea also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sunflower Foundation, a statewide healthcare foundation. Additionally, she is on the boards of Russell Development, Inc., Russell PRIDE, Inc. and the Gamma Phi Beta House Corporation at Kansas State University. She also serves on the Russell Co. 4-H Program Development Committee and the St. John Lutheran Church Council.
In her professional life, Andrea is Secretary/Treasurer of John O. Farmer, Inc., an energy production company. She is a member of the Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association and has been on the Board of Directors since 2013, serving as Chairman of the Federal and State Tax Committee. She also serves on the Executive Committee as the 2021-2023 Chairman of the Board, the first female elected to serve in that role in the Association’s 84-year history. Andrea was also the 2015 recipient of the KIOGA President’s Leadership Award.
Previously, Andrea was with DPRA Incorporated, an environmental consulting firm, for nine years and was a member of the Tax Division of Arthur Andersen & Co. prior to that. Additionally, she has been an adjunct professor of Business Strategy at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Andrea is a graduate of Kansas State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Agricultural Economics and a Master of Business Administration. In addition, she is a Certified Public Accountant.
Andrea is a member of Ingram’s 2021 Class of “50 Kansans You Should Know”, the 2019 class of Leadership Kansas, and was the 2016 recipient of the Russell Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.
She lives on her family’s farm southwest of Russell, along with her husband, Tom, who farms and ranches with her father. Her family raises registered Hereford and Angus cattle and produces wheat and grain sorghum. Andrea and Tom have one daughter, Katherine, who is a student at Kansas State University.

Roger reported that a small group of our members (Roger, Vern Klassen, Rod Brown and John Mosley) got together to prep the boards for building the bookshelves this year.
Bob Goebel is graciously letting them use his wonderful workshop again this year! The build date will be announced soon
