Kelly Bielefeld's responsibilities as Superintendent of Wichita Public Schools formally began on July 1, 2023. Mr. Bielefeld previously served as the Wichita Public Schools Executive Director of College and Career Readiness, where his work supported secondary schools with Career and Technical Education leadership, college credit expansion, and increasing the number of students earning industry credentials. He was instrumental in helping shape the district’s Future Ready Centers in Advanced Manufacturing and Health Science. These centers provide opportunities for students to gain technical skills so they will be able to enter the workforce after graduation. He received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Kansas State University, his Masters of Building Leadership from Wichita State University, and his District Level Endorsement from Fort Hays State University.
Mr. Bielefeld and his wife, Angie, are the proud parents of eight children who are WPS students in elementary, middle, and high schools.

We will have the FOUNDATION DRAWINGS at our club meeting tomorrow! Anyone who contributed $100 or more to the Rotary Foundation during the 2022-23 Rotary year will be eligible for a drawing for a week's stay at the Bowles' cabin in Colorado. Also, a name will be drawn from our club's Paul Harris Group to be named a Paul Harris Fellow.
MONTHLY GROCERY PROJECT!
Please sign up to shop and deliver groceries to families in need. Volunteers are needed for the whole school year but most urgently we need a pair of shoppers for September! Rod Brown has the family information.
Gift cards for the grocery purchase are provided by our club. The families are selected by Lawrence & Benton Elementary Social Workers.
Shopping pairs will pick the day and time convenient to all.
Our club awarded a Foundation Grant to the Phillips Fundamental Learning Center, Inc. (PFLC) to support the grand opening of their new facility by providing "all kinds of fun and treats for both youth and adults". PFLC's mission, tied directly to literacy and dyslexia, is to "teach children to read, write, and spell; enlighten parents to the educational needs of their children, and prepare adults to be Literacy Intervention Specialists for the purpose of changing the lives of children, especially with dyslexia."
