TODAY'S MEETING
May 19, 2026 12:00 PM
"Soccer & the World Cup"
Scott Dyer’s passion for soccer began at age four when he watched his older cousin play and immediately knew he wanted to join the game. Although told he was too small to start right away, he began playing at age five, launching a lifelong connection to the sport. Soccer remained a major part of his life through his youth, college years, and active duty service in the United States Air Force.

After moving to Wichita in 2004, Scott joined the historic adult soccer club, the Wheathawks, where he continued competing in leagues and tournaments until age 40. He later spent 13 years coaching his two sons in youth soccer and has now served as a soccer referee for the past 10 years. While refereeing comes with plenty of vocal feedback from players and fans, Scott says it remains a great way to stay active and connected to the game.

Above all, Scott is a lifelong soccer fan, and he considers the FIFA World Cup to be the pinnacle of the sport and its global community.

Scott is a member of the Rotary Club of WSC-Sunrise.
