Good Day Rotarians,
First of all, if nothing changes between now and June 16th, we will have our first Tuesday noon meeting back at RHCC on June 16th. Next, we all know our way of life for the past months has been particularly unusual. Which has led me to think about, “when we can get back to normal, or, what will be the new normal?” Then I read this Facebook post the other day from a friend who has been battling ALS for the past few years. I have been impressed by his outlook on life even as he is in the midst of his disease. I found his post to be a profound, especially for these times, so I asked him for permission to forward it on to all of you for my thought of the day.
“I hear so much about folks looking forward to finding and settling into a new normal. Isn’t every day a new day?
Aren’t we made anew, moment by moment, as we experience and interact with whatever this new day presents to us?
Does anyone really want a “New Normal?
I pray my eyes be open as a newborn baby’s…. seeing God’s glory & creation freshly, boldly, and unabashedly interacting in it
with all of my being. Normal tends to imply balanced static indifference.
Hum, “Balanced Static Indifference”, could make a good title for a piece of artwork.”
Seize the moment and stay strong, my friends!”
Jack Wilson
Well put Jack. Thank you for reminding us to seize the moment, especially as we think of it through the filter of the Rotary motto of the things we think, say, and do. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the 16th.
