SERVING TO CHANGE LIVES

Dr. Fred C. Heismeyer is District 5680 Governor and a member in the East Wichita Club. Fred has served as Club President in 2016-17 and District Trainer of District 5690. He has been honored with the district “Service Above Self” award jointly with his wife, Joyce, and the club’s “Service Above Self” and “Rotarian of the Year” awards. Fred and Joyce have been active Rotarians at the club and district levels for many years. Fred began his Rotary career in 1997 as a member of the Springdale (Arkansas) Club where he was a board member; moved to the Iola, Kansas club in 2009 where he served as President-Elect before the couple’s move to Wichita in 2011.

As a Global Human Performance Coach/Owner of Career Dimensions, Fred has focused on team/leadership training and worked with education, business, industry, banking, health care and not-for-profit organizations worldwide. He has been an adjunct faculty member with Webster, Baker, and Friends universities and an instructor at Allen County Community College. Fred has taught in China and Ghana; as well as facilitated training in Poland through the USAID program.

Fred holds a doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, a master’s degree from Emporia State University and a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University. He is past president of the Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development chapter and former board member of the NWA Society of Human Resource Management and the Arkansas College Personnel Association. Fred worked for 15 years as a university student affair professional in a variety of capacities. Joyce and Fred are committed to community service. Fred is a past national president of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, served as vice president of the Board of Governors of the Up with People International Alumni Association, and a past president of Springdale, Arkansas Habitat for Humanity chapter.

Fred and Joyce have been married for 41 years. Joyce recently retired from a career in health care administration. The couple has provided foster care for children, enjoy traveling, active in their church and share a love of dogs.

The BOARD will meet with District Governor Heismeyer in Banquet Room 1 at Rolling Hills Country Club at 11:15 a.m. before today's club meeting.
World Polio Day (October 24) provides an opportunity to highlight global efforts toward a polio-free world and honor the tireless contributions of those on the frontlines in the fight to eradicate polio from every corner of the globe.

Being the only birthday celebrant in September, Bob Benson won the right to name a charity to receive a donation. Bob chose Envision and we raised $135 to send to them.
