Denise Neil, a Dodge City native and a KU graduate, started as a reporter at the Wichita Eagle in 1997. She took over the restaurant beat in 2000 and since then has built her popular column and Facebook page, Dining with Denise, where she keeps Eagle readers updated on all the happenings in the dining scene. 

Denise will have books at the meeting to sell and sign. The books are $23.50 and she will accept cash, card, Venmo or PayPal.

Last week's scheduled speaker, Bryan Frye, was tied up in a city council meeting so he had to cancel at the last minute. He will be rescheduled at a later date. Our THANKS to Colin McKenney for filling in as our speaker! It was interesting to hear an update on Starkey.

Our club sponsored a booth at the Wichita Business Expo last week as a way to promote Rotary and our club. Thanks to those who manned the booth: Mindy Wagner, Rod Brown, Wade West, Lori Taylor and Randy Bowles. Randy reported that they saw many different businesses and
had a few promising prospects and potential speakers. Our thanks to Mindy Wagner, Membership Chair, for organizing this event.

Our club will have a booth at the Lawrence Elementary Family Fun Night on October 14. If you have extra, please bring business pens, post-it notes, etc. as handouts at the booth.

Brian Turney won the August Birthday drawing and named Wichita's Littlest Heroes as his charity choice. Jon Roper collected around $177 at last week's meeting and Brian Turney has graciously offered to fill in the rest to make it a $500 contribution.
