Doug Nolte has been the CEO of the Union Rescue Mission since January 2019. Prior to leading the team at the URM, Doug was a Captain on the Wichita Police Department, serving almost 27 years. Doug desires to see the lives of the men and families the URM works with be restored to and through Christ. Doug has embraced the role of rescue, recovery, restoration, and re-engagement in a person’s life. He has often said, “Everyone needs to be rescued!”
"There were 4 interact students and many Rotarians that packed 20,000 meals that went to local areas of need."
Our thanks to those who volunteered from our club:
Phil Michel, Randy Bowles (and Interact students), Dale Rein, Ed Frey, BJ Wells, Rod Brown, Dan Kreis and Vern Klassen.
SHELTERBOX HERO 2022-23
Greetings President Joey and members of Rotary Club of West Wichita,
Congratulations on achieving ShelterBox HERO recognition for Rotary Year 2022-2023.
Your support is very much appreciated. 2022 was our biggest year yet and your support helped us to reach over 400,000 people across 22 projects in 12 countries.
Gifts from clubs, individuals identifying as club members, or anyone recognizing your club all count toward ShelterBox HERO club recognition. A Bronze HERO recognition level is achieved at $1,000, Silver at $3,000 and Gold at $5,000 in total giving within the Rotary year. A club can ‘level up’ throughout the Rotary year.
ShelterBox has provided aid to over 2.5 million people since 2000, we could not have reached them without clubs like yours.
Thank you for being a ShelterBox HERO!
