Randy's wife, Ronda, and their son, Brandon Eckerman were in attendance for the presentation. This was a proud moment for Dad, Roger Bowles, who was our 2002 Service Above Self recipient!
Randy Bowles has been a member of our club for nearly 9 years and an additional 2 years previously with the Sunrise Rotary club. He makes it a point to participate in nearly all of our club activities, and takes a hands-on approach – whether asked or not - to help make them as successful as possible.
Randy is a Paul Harris Fellow and also contributes regularly to our club’s foundation to further our charitable activities. During his year as Club President, he stepped back from his work to devote more time to serving our club and did a great job of transitioning us from the limitations of the pandemic to a much more typical calendar of activities.
His support of our annual wine dinner fundraiser has been outstanding. Not only has he done a great job of gathering auction items and promoting them, he has also been very generous in contributing items that have added to the overall success of the auction.
Randy has been our club’s representative with the Interact Club and has taken them to Panama in previous years. This year, due to his significant investment of time and effort, he has successfully gotten the Interact club up and running once again after a Covid break. His goal is to teach the students service above self and to encourage future Rotarians.
Randy organized ordering Rotary t shirts for all of our area Rotary clubs and initiated a grant for the Sunrise Rotary Boundless playscape to provide a sun shade. He started the use of power point at our club meetings and arrives early each week to get it set up to provide information as an agenda for our members to follow and to assist our speakers.
Overall, and most importantly, he is excited about what’s going on with our club and what’s coming up next. He brings a positive energy to meetings, service projects, social events and other club activities.
CONGRATULATIONS RANDY!
