Dave Walker retired from the homicide unit of the Tulsa Police Department in 2018. He worked as a patrol officer before being promoted in 1989 to sergeant. He worked undercover for ten years and then supervised violent crime to include burglary, robbery, and homicide. He has been awarded the medal of valor, chiefs medal twice for leading violent crime tasks forces and the Oklahoma Chiefs commendation for a nationwide drug investigation. His homicide unit is featured on A&E’s The First 48 true crime series.
He is currently researching a program called “Save the Six Year Olds.” Playing catch with those positive influencers in kids lives. The program is evolving and intends to save the next generation through the lessons taught in a game of catch.

MAY 13: DOWNTOWN ROTARY CLUB MEETING
Jennifer Montgomery, Rotary Peace Fellow, is rescheduled to speak at the Downtown Rotary Club meeting on May 13. She is an outstanding speaker and her work is inspiring; a great example of the power of Rotary. Watch for an email on how to make your reservation in advance through the Downtown Club. The cost for lunch is $25 per person.
UPDATE ON ROTARY WATER PROJECT
We made our goal of $2,500 in donations from our club members. Our Club's Foundation will match that amount to purchase a $5,000 water system for a school in Tanzania. An anonymous member donated $5,000 to purchase an additional unit. These two units will provide clean water to nearly $1,300 students!

A BIG THANKS to Randy Bowles for reorganizing and leading our Interact Club! This year, they had guest speakers at their meetings giving vocational guidance, they helped with community service projects and much more! April 16th was their last meeting until next Fall. They ended their year with 30 club members!

Holiday Raffle: Randy Bowles won $6 in last week's raffle. This week, the raffle will be worth over $84 if an Ace is drawn. Proceeds from the raffle are used to buy groceries for families in need at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
