What does it mean to be BOLD? Dee believes it is to bravely own your opportunities to lead a daring life of impact. That is what brought her to the Department for Children & Families (DCF). Engaging in leadership to achieve the mission of DCF to protect children, strengthen families and promote adult self-sufficiency requires everyone in the community to be BOLD.
Dee has been a licensed social worker practicing in Kansas for over 30 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wichita State University and a master’s degree from the University of Kansas. Dee is also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor and NADD Certified Dual Diagnosis Specialist. She is a certified leadership coach and consultant and is the owner of eMErge Coaching LLC. Dee has served her community as an enthusiastic public servant, a volunteer, and an advocate but her greatest joy is being a grandmother. When she is not working, she loves road trips, playing golf and spending time on the lake.
Today's presentation will be an introduction to the mission of Department for Children & Families and overview of all of the program areas under their umbrella.

ROTARY DUES
The next dues statements will be sent out the end of December. We have several members who prefer to pay annual dues for January - December. If you would prefer to be on that same annual payment schedule, please let me know by mid-December and I will adjust your statement accordingly.

THANKSGIVING GROCERY SHOPPING
Our Thanksgiving crew met at Dillons to purchase groceries to deliver to 4 families in need on November 19. Mark Hansen, project organizer, was there to get things started before he had to leave, then Randy Bowles took over from there. Randy reported they had 8 Rotarians, 4 Interact students and Heidi's 2 daughters helping with the deliveries. In addition to those deliveries, and in the true Rotary "Service Above Self" spirit, there was a last minute family from Lawrence who needed help and Jodi Besthorn stepped up and took care of them on her own. Thanks to all who helped make Thanksgiving nice for those families served!
Our Christmas deliveries will be made on Saturday, December 17. We could use a few more volunteers. Sign up at the meeting.
INTERACT CLUB OF WEST WICHITA
Report from Randy Bowles
We had 12 kids at last week's Interact meeting; that is most to date.
Three kids brought items for Paxton Blessing boxes. One of the students asked if he could write a Year Book story on the Club. The meeting was led by the elected President and I assisted. I played a Video on the Rotary Foundation since November is Foundation Month. Our next meeting will be December 6th with plans to take them to Candy Cane Lane on a Party Bus instead of Pizza Ranch and drop cans of food off at multiple Paxton Blessing Boxes along the way.
If know of any high school students on the west side who would be interested in joining Interact, a service-based club modeled after our Rotary Club, please encourage them to check it out. See Randy for meeting details.

RITE PROJECT
(RITE=Rotary InterCountry Teacher Exchange)
Hello Rotarian Friends! We are excited to announce that we will be hosting RITE teachers again! We will have 4 teachers; 1 male and 2 females from Panama, and 1 female from Argentina. The program dates are January 14 to February 12, 2023. We need 16 host families to be able to accommodate our guests. Host responsibilities include hosting a teacher in your home for one week, taking the teacher to and from school, and providing meals. There is some flexibility in daily schedules by sharing rides, etc. with other host homes. All 4 speak English and teach English in their school.
