May 2016 Map Painting at Pray Woodman

We repainted the map on the playground at Pray Woodman Elementary in Maize. There were a total of 20 volunteers who showed up at one point or another during the day, including seven of our club members along with their relatives, several of our Interact students, and some college students from First MB Church. The school principal and assistant principal worked alongside us and expressed their appreciation for the effort and the positive impact the map has on students.
Our club has painted and repainted many playground maps over the years (since at least 2007), serving multiple schools throughout the community.
DeAnn Sullivan initiated our Map Painting project originally through the AT&T Telecom Pioneers. She has continued to secure supplies and provide instructions that support this ongoing club project, as well as, a project for other Rotary clubs.
Fun fact: Jamie Wise has an impressive record of 14 maps painted during her year as our Club President!
June 2016 Fence project at Maize

Organized by Jamie Wise, our Rotary club funded a wrought iron fence project at the Maize Splash Park. The fence was added to act as a barrier from cars to keep the kids safe. It was a wet morning as it poured down on us much of the time, but we got the fence installed just in time for the kids to show up and play!
