AI and Genealogy
AI and Genealogy

Gary Clark has been a professional photographer, writer, and communications specialist for more than four decades in various technology sectors. In addition, he is a genealogist and tracker of elusive ancestors since the mid-1990s. The merger of his professional skills with the passion for family history has taken him down multiple genealogy paths – most recently delving into artificial intelligence capabilities in rescuing and restoring old photographs.

Gary has spoken at regional and national genealogy conferences for more than 15 years. A native Kansan and resident of Wichita, Gary is a twelve-year member of the Wichita Genealogical Society, the Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society, the Topeka Genealogy Society, and the National Genealogy Society (NGS). He is the author of fourteen popular books on the subjects of old photographs,  gravestone preservation, and other genealogy topics.

His presentation is titled AI Photo Restoration and Enhancement. After a short introduction to this aspect of Artificial Intelligence, the steps and processes used to produce near-miraculous results will be shared. Many before-and-after examples will be shown, both in the presentation and in printed examples. His work can be viewed at www.phototree.com.
