2020 INBOUND RITE TEACHERS
Carla Minchilli Chacabuco, Buenos Aires, Argentina Carla owns a school where she teaches English skills and works as a teacher of English for kindergarten students in a Catholic school as well as adolescents and teens in secondary public and private schools. She is involved in a leadership role with young people though her church and community connections. She has traveled to Brazil and Chile and sees it as an excellent educational experience traveling to the US for the first time and being in constant communication with English native speakers. She is excited to share her new knowledge and experiences with future students and colleagues. Carla is married.
Cecilia Santillán Boulonge, Buenos Aires, Argentina Cecilia has worked as an English language educator since 2017, teaching at the primary and secondary level in Boulonge. She has traveled throughout the provinces in Argentina but this her first trip outside of Argentina. She enjoys her time with family and friends and is dedicated to campaigns to help people in need and for the rescue of domestic animals. She is excited about learning the US culture and customs, daily routines and educational methods through her interaction with people in host homes, schools and across the Wichita community.
Susana Moreno David, Chiriquí, Panamá Susana has taught English at the elementary level, as well as, the university level for the last 10 years. She participated in the 2019 RITE Seminar for Teacher of English in David. This is her first time to travel outside of Panama. She is excited to experience and improve her fluency of the US English language through interaction with host families and teachers and students in the schools. She also wants to learn new and effective teaching techniques to help her students learn English, manage her classroom while improving her teaching methodologies. Susana is married and has three sons ages 14, 6 and 1.
Marggie Morales David, Chiriquí, Panamá Marggie has taught at the elementary level since 2015. She participated in the June 2019 RITE Seminar sponsored by the Rotary Club of David. In 2016, she was a part of the Panama Bilingüe Program as a participant in an immersion teaching program at American University in Washington DC. In 2017, Marggie attended a four-week Seminar on Excellent Teacher Training from Developing Countries through the Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China at Zhejiang Normal University in Jinhua, Zhejiang, China. Marggie is excited to be a part of the RITE program because she wants to improve her teaching methodologies though observation and interaction with teachers and students in the schools. Marggie was recently engaged.
Arcenio Romero Boquete, Chiriquí, Panamá Arcenio first traveled to the US in 2009-10 in an exchange student program to study Intensive English Course and to participate in the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN. In 2018, he participated in the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program at Appalachian State University. Boone, NC. In 2019, he participated in an immersion teaching program, Panama Bilingüe Program at American University in Washington DC. He has taught five years in all grade levels at public and private schools. Currently, he works with students in a school in Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca, an indigenous region in northwest Panama and has become a part of the indigenous community by living in teacher housing during the school week. Arcenio participated in the last RITE Seminar and plans to grow professionally by learning new techniques, methodologies, strategies, and activities to help motivate his students to learn English and help his colleagues as well. Arcenio is married and has a 5 year old son.
