TODAY'S MEETING
Dec 08, 2020 12:00 PM
Catholic Charities, Inc.

At Catholic Charities, Inc. Executive Director, Wendy Glick, works to lead a staff of nearly 150 full time and part time employees in addressing hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence; assisting couples and families, adults with disabilities and seniors; and living our stewardship through partnerships and collaboration.

In her leadership position, she plays a key role in providing a vision for the work of Catholic Charities, managing the day-to-day operations, as well as identifying, cultivating and soliciting major donors for capital and annual gifts.

After more than 20 years of working in for-profit, Wendy began her work in not-for-profit in 1998 serving as the volunteer coordinator for Catholic Charities. In 2002, she moved over to another diocesan ministry, The Lord’s Diner, and for 8 years served as its executive director, before stepping down in July, 2011. Returning to Catholic Charities in August, 2011, Wendy has served as the Director of Development and the Senior Director of Mission Services and Development, before moving in to her current role.

Wendy’s return to Catholic Charities comes from her desire to “do more” and through her work, have a greater impact on the lives of those in need.  Her ultimate goal is to share the multiple ways Catholic Charities shares God’s love by caring for all people through the 13 different programs providing services throughout the 25 counties of our diocese and touching more than 18,000 lives each year.

Wendy holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She has been married for more than 38 years to her husband Karl. Her immediate family includes Cody (31), who lives in Wichita, and Kyle (35), who with his wife Jamie, and their son Will and daughter Gwen, reside in the Chicago area.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON LAST WEEK
Although it looked a little different this year and with half of the crowd, we had a great time. Colin arranged to have a video Christmas card made (thanks to Mark Chamberlin!) so we got to see Christmas wishes from several of our members and enjoyed nice fellowship around the tables....at a distance, of course. The link to the video was e-mailed to members last week so everyone could view it.

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
CHRISTMAS FAMILY GIFTS

Please bring the gifts you purchased for our Christmas families to this week's meeting or the December 15 meeting. If you would rather do a drive-by drop off, bring it to RHCC on Dec 8 or 15, 1:00 - 1:15 p.m. (after our club meeting) and Mark Hansen will be out front to collect the gifts. Be sure to mark your name off the list when you bring it.
Members who signed up for our Christmas GROCERY shopping crew this year are:
