Wichita Police Department: Exploited & Missing Child Unit

Detective Steve Meyer is a 24 year veteran of the Wichita Police Department and is currently assigned to  the Exploited and Missing Child Unit (EMCU).  Detective Meyer is assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigations Human Trafficking Task Force where he works with the FBI to charge these cases on a Federal level.  Prior to this assignment Detective Meyer worked physical and sexual child abuse cases in Sedgwick County. Prior to being promoted to the rank of Detective he worked in the Patrol North Bureau where he served as a beat officer, field training officer and school resource officer at Wichita North High School.

Detective Meyer is originally from Strong City Kansas and has resided in West Wichita since 1989.  He is married to his wife of 30 years Jacquelyn and has two sons, Levi (a collegiate baseball coach) and Dalton (assistant superintendent at Teradyne Country Club).
