"Rotary's Work In Ukraine"
Dr. Arlen K. Honts enjoyed a 28-year career as an academician. He held the title of Professor of Business Administration and taught a variety of management courses including Human Resources, Management, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, International Business, and Strategic Management. For 23 years, Dr. Honts was tapped to lead the Business programs at two different universities – serving as a Program Director for undergraduate Business, as Chair for undergraduate Business, and as Dean of the School of Business.
Dr. Honts is active in several community organizations. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Wichita where he has served a variety of roles including being the President in 2014-2015. He serves Rotary International at the District level as the District 5680 Learning Facilitator. Previously he served as an Assistant District Governor and as the Inbound Coordinator of the Group Study Exchange program. He is active in the Friends of McConnell (Air Force Base) group where he has been an Honorary Commander to the 350th Air Refueling Squadron and the 22nd Maintenance Group. In 2019, Dr. Honts was made McConnell Air Force Base’s ninth Golden Eagle (McConnell’s highest honor for civilian partners). From 2017 – 2021, he represented McConnell at the United States Air Force level, serving on the Air Mobility Command Civic Leaders Council. He served on the founding Board of Wichita BizFest – an initiative of the Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to promote entrepreneurship and education to minority high school students. He has served on several advisory boards for the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Honts has served on the Board of Directors for a variety of organizations, including the Rotary Club of Wichita, the Cleveland County (North Carolina) Chamber of Commerce and the Cleveland County Economic Development Commission. He served on the Executive Committee of the Shelby, North Carolina Relay For Life (a volunteer function of the American Cancer Society) and on the Cleveland County Job Development Task Force. Dr. Honts attends River Community Church in Wichita, Kansas.
Dr. Honts is a graduate of both the University of Oklahoma and Vanderbilt University. He received his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Honts earned his Ph.D. in Organization Studies at Vanderbilt University.
A native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Arlen is married to Stacy Honts (nee Harris) of Wichita, Kansas. They have two daughters, one son, one son-in-law, one grandson, and one granddaughter – Anna Laura Honts, Emma Honts Baumgartner, Colin Honts, Mitchell Baumgartner, Thaddeaus Baumgartner, and Hadassah Baumgartner.
