Teresa Veazey, Community Services Representative
District Advisory Board, City of Wichita
Teresa Veazey joined the Office of Community Services in May 2023 and serves City Council Districts 2 and 5. Prior to working in the City Manager’s Office, Teresa was the Public Relations Manager at the Wichita Art Museum for nearly a decade. Her foray into Wichita’s visual arts scene began in 1997 when she took a job as the Membership and Marketing Coordinator for the Society of Decorative Painters and continued as she became the Public Relations Manager for the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University. 
 
Teresa has a passion for communication and is a member of and co-reservations chair for Wichita Professional Communicators. She also is a member of Public Relations Society of America-Kansas Chapter and American Marketing Association-Wichita. She has a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and spent her college years working for the University Daily Kansan and the Topeka Capital Journal newspapers. 
 
Teresa is a lifelong Kansan and a farmer’s daughter, born in Cawker City and raised in Hesston. As a proud Wichita Public Schools parent, she sends her seventh-grade daughter, Helen, to Robinson Middle School. 
 
In her free time, Teresa loves being a pledge host at PBS Kansas. She is active in Rotary Club of Wichita where she serves as a school site coordinator for the Reading Is Fundamental program. A member of her high school debate and forensics teams, Teresa enjoys spending Saturday mornings as a debate and forensics judge at area high schools. She is a proud member of the Wichita Art Museum, Ulrich Museum of Art, Exploration Place, Sedgwick County Zoo, and Exploration Place.
