David Weber Extra Effort Awards are given to a student selected by their teacher who demonstrates good citizenship in the classroom and achieves high academic standards. A different grade level is recognized each month throughout the school year with the presentations (since 2021) made at the school. The student receives a framed certificate along with a $2 bill courtesy of Sharon West. This project was renamed in 2012 in memory of David Weber for his years of involvement with this project. Terry Gardner has organized this project since that time. It began with Lawrence Elementary and since 2018 has included Benton Elementary.
