Our in-person meetings resume this week at Rolling Hills Country Club!
Please wear a mask to the meeting. Our buffet will be served by the RHCC staff and the tables will be spread apart in the room. We have a team, lead by Mark Chamberlin, who are working hard to on how to effectively set up zoom capabilities to have hybrid meetings but have not tackled all the obstacles yet. So no ZOOM option for today's meeting.

THANKS to those who assisted with our Zoom meetings and to all who joined us virtually!

Notice sent to our club....
Congratulations on receiving ShelterBox HERO recognition for Rotary Year 2019-2020. Your support is very much appreciated. 1.6 million people have been sheltered since 2000, we could not have reached them without clubs like yours. COVID 19 has not stopped our efforts, your help has provided aid to over 87,000 people so far in 2020.
Thank you for being a ShelterBox HERO!

QUARTERLY DUES BILLING
Your Quarterly Dues statement was e-mailed last week through ClubRunner, our club's website. The statement reflects the full dues for our current quarter, October - December 2020, HOWEVER, you are given the option to deduct a $75 "covid credit" for the July - September 2020 quarter since we only had virtual meetings. If you choose to take the credit, deduct the $75 from your dues total. If you had any Happy Basket items from the July - September quarter on zoom, add that fee to your dues total. Please make your payment within the next few weeks.

ROTARY’S WHEEL EMBLEM

Taken from the ABC's of Rotary

A wheel has been the symbol of Rotary since our earliest days. The first design was made by Chicago Rotarian Montague Bear, an engraver who drew a simple wagon wheel, with a few lines of show dust and motion. The wheel was said to illustrate “Civilization and Movement”. Most of the early clubs had some form of wagon wheel on their publications and letterheads. Finally, in 1922, it was decided that all Rotary clubs should adopt a single design as the exclusive emblem of Rotarians. Thus, in 1923, the present gear wheel, with 24 cogs and six spokes, was adopted by the “Rotary International Association.” A group of engineers advised that the geared wheel was mechanically unsound and would not work without a “keyway” in the center of the gear to attach it to a power shaft. So, in 1923 the keyway was added and the design which we now know was formally adopted as the official Rotary International emblem.

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and better FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
