As a worldwide organization, we have the unique opportunity to connect with leaders from all continents, cultures and occupations. We undertake projects designed to assist those in any country and to participate in programs that advance international understanding, goodwill and peace.
Rotary International has focused its efforts in six areas, which reflect some of the most critical and widespread humanitarian needs.
The 6 Areas of Focus are:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development

Rotary Intercountry Teacher Exchange (RITE) program
RITE provides month-long training for teachers of English. In mid-January we receive teachers from Panama and Argentina and we send teachers to Panama in June.
Open World:
The Open World Program is sponsored by the government and usually focuses on informational exchanges for one type of profession. We have hosted guests from Russia and the Ukraine for the 10-day session. Life-long friendships have been built because of these two programs.
Youth Exchange and New Generations Exchange:
These programs bring High School students and young professionals to our communities for a few months or a school year. Our most recent guests were from Taiwan.
